Oil in water (hydraulic oil) 1-3% |
|
In the steel industry at the “cold milling” department, the steel plate is milled to reach its final target thickness, which can be as low as 0.15 mm. This is the base product for packaging steel. In order to reduce friction during between the steel and the mills, oil and water is used. It is important to keep the oil concentration at an optimum value, which is normally between 1 and 3%. Both for blending the oil and water, as well as for control of the recovered milling oil, it is vital to constantly measure the concentration of the oil, which is measured with the Rhosonics 8500 analyser.
