Limestone slurry

Limestone slurries can be measured with the larger version of the UFTC series flow-through sensors, as well as the smaller and more cost efficient UFTW series sensors, the Ultrasonic Flow-Through Wafer Sensors. Most applications in production plants with both CaOH and CaO, are using 10 or 12-inch pipes.
The wafer sensors are particularly targeted to smaller pipe sizes, starting from 2 inch ID, which is the minimum possible diameter. In contrast with the UFTC series, the UFTW series sensors consists of one wafer-type sensor, with integral sensor. The only material in contact with the slurry is either PEEK or a special wear-resistant type of HDPE.
In this application, the suspended solids concentration is monitored by the combination of one sensor and one Rhosonics Model 9620 controller. The concentration is usually given in terms of density or in direct weight by weight concentration units. Once installed, the Rhosonics analyzer operates reliably, does not wear and drift, and does not need any maintenance for very long term intervals, making it the preferred analyzer for limestone density analysis. The highest possible measuring range is normally 1000 to 1350 g/l or 0 to 40 wt% solids.
The combination of Model 9620 with the sensor type of your choice is factory calibrated and tested. The start-up and verification of the reading is simple and does not require any special tools or skills.
