Oleums are a solution of sulfur trioxide (SO3) dissolved in sulfuric acid (H2SO4). The concentration is displayed as percent H2SO4 or free SO3. 100% SO3 dissolved in H2SO4 gives a reading of 122.5% H2SO4. For the complete range 0-100% SO3, or for sub ranges, except for the 35-40% range, the Rhosonics 8500 analyser is the perfect analyser in combination with the MCS-FTS (flow through sensor with special PFA/PTFE/PVDF pore free coating)) series probes or the teflon coated MP-130. Since all probes are factory-calibrated, there is no need for calibration on-site. All liquid-data are factory stored and can be easily user-modified, without the need for special skills or tools.
Both probes is certified for use in explosion hazardous areas. (Eex-d-IIC-T3…T6).
